TEDx

Accepting the award on behalf of TEDx is Chris Andersen and TEDx founder Lara Stein

After a long career in journalism and publishing, Chris Anderson became the curator of the TED Conference in 2002 and has developed it as a platform for identifying and disseminating ideas worth spreading including TEDx. This radical innovation expanded the TED audience making it more accessible and affordable, while tapping into a treasure trove of new sources of content through a licensing model of the traditional TED Conference. This risky decision has paid off and has enabled the TED brand to bring scale to its mission of ideas worth spreading.

As TEDx’s founder and TEDx’s and TED Prize Director, Lara Stein is focused on next generation strategies for TEDx and the TED Prize. She spearheaded the charge to launch TEDx in 2009. She is currently focused on storytelling, collaboration and concepts that help bring TED talks to the developing world and identifying then next 1 million dollar TED Prize winner. Before joining TED she consulted to Media, Art and Technology companies, including, Pangea Day, TED, Worldwide Biggies, Moveopolis, and JVP.
