Bre Pettis created Bold Machines which is now an independent product development workshop. Bre Pettis looks forward to creating innovative products using Stratasys, MakerBot and Solidscape 3D printers. He’s a cofounder and former CEO of MakerBot, leading the next industrial revolution to empower creative explorers to make anything. With “The Replicator,” a desktop 3D printer that can make objects about the size of a loaf of bread, Pettis created an entire ecosystem for desktop 3D printing, a cutting-edge consumer brand, and a flourishing open source design community on Thingiverse.com. MakerBot offers a simpler, more affordable, 3D desktop printer, giving consumers access to 3D printing for under $2,000. He also started NYCResistor, a hacker collective with a shared space located in downtown Brooklyn that meets regularly to share knowledge, hack on projects together, and build community Pettis is also a 2015 Henry Crown Fellow, a 2012 TED Fellow and an Entrepreneurs’ Organization forum moderator, and an investor in Happy Any Hour, Perch, KeybaseIO BentoBox, Glowforge, Bond, Elepath,Dragon Innovation, Dash Labs, Techshop, Local Motors, and Freeport. He speaks at conferences, universities, and events around the world. Some of the events he’s presented at are VMWorld, Qualcomm Venture Summit, SXSWi keynote, European Consumer Trend Conference, TTI Vanguard NextGen, and Roboexotica.
