Daniel Chalfen
Daniel J. Chalfen is a documentary film and television producer and the co-founder of Naked Edge Films, which specializes in confronting social and political issues through great stories and characters. Chalfen’s documentaries have premiered at the world’s foremost film festivals, including Berlin, Toronto and Tribeca, have been released theatrically by Samuel Goldwyn Films, Participant Media, and Kino Lorber, and have aired worldwide including on Al Jazeera, ARTE, CBC, DirecTV, Discovery, HBO, More 4, Netflix, NHK, Showtime and PBS. His films have won, been nominated or short-listed for multiple awards including Emmys, Oscars, and DuPonts. Chalfen’s recent films include Southwest of Salem: The Story of the San Antonio Four, Prescription Thugs, The Mind of Mark DeFriest, Silenced, In Country, State 194, Gone, The Revisionaries, Donor Unknown, The Disappearance of McKinley Nolan, Budrus, War Don Don, Meeting Resistance and 39 Pounds of Love. Chalfen also appeared as an on-screen judge in the Glenn Beck and Vince Vaughn executive produced television competition series Pursuit of the Truth. Chalfen is a voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and a founding member of the DCTV Cinema Advisory Council.
