Dr. Paula Kahumbu
Dr. Paula Kahumbu is the CEO of Kenyan Conservation NGO WildlifeDirect. She founded Hands Off Our Elephants, a Campaign that exposed the poaching crisis in the country leading to major reform the laws and practices against ivory poachers and traffickers. Poaching dropped by 80 percent in just 3 years Kenya burned her entire ivory stockpile of 105 tons in April 2016. In January 2016 she partnered with Local media and the wildlife authority to launch Kenya's first wildlife documentary series, NTV Wild, broadcasting documentaries made in Kenya for the first time to Kenyans. The companion discussion program, NTV Wild Talk Kenyan narrative that shines a light on Kenyan problems, solutions and heroes. She is a Kenyan expert on elephants and has a PhD from Princeton University.
