Robyn Shapiro
Robyn created the cricket protein snack food brand Seek to address health and environmental issues in our global food system. Seek has received extensive media coverage, including a New York Magazine feature story, and articles in Forbes, CBS and the Observer. Robyn has also led multiple education workshops on edible insects, including an in-school video series with Project Explorer that is distributed for free nationwide. In January 2018, Seek was accepted into the Plug & Play accelerator in Silicon Valley.
Prior to Seek, Robyn served as the Deputy Director for the non-profit organization, the Lowline, a future underground park in New York City illuminated by solar technology. Robyn handled fundraising and PR efforts which raised funds from a mix of individual, institutional and public sources, launched 2 record-setting Kickstarter campaigns and garnered coverage from hundreds of national and global press outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. Additionally, Robyn was the Executive Producer of the Lowline Lab, which drew over 110,000 visitors, and launched the STEAM Young Designers Program offering free education for over 2,000 students.
Robyn formerly held domestic and global senior marketing roles at Ralph Lauren, Saatchi & Saatchi, and SelectNY. She is also a Tribeca Disruptor Foundation Fellow. Robyn also completed the Eagle Street Rooftop Farm apprenticeship program. Robyn has spoken extensively on both Seek and The Lowline. Here is a small selection of press and talks:
