Chihiro "Charles" Hashimoto

Chihiro Hashimoto is a current MBA Class of 2019 student at Columbia Business School.  He previously worked in Japan for his family office, an internal private equity house focused on turnarounds of distressed small/mid-sized companies.  He formulated and executed several new growth strategies at portfolio companies such as Kyoden Group (electric components), Yoyogi Animation (media/entertainment), and Ooedo Onsen (Hospitality, sold to Bain Capital in 2015). 

Growing up in a small town outside of Boston, he eventually became the first and only US citizen of his entire family.  Post MBA, he hopes to utilize his Japanese American background to expand his family business globally through a new business venture.  Chihiro holds an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from RensselaerPolytechnic Institute.
